On Vacation — And taking a break today
Sometimes even the heart
needs a little time away.
A softer schedule.
A slower morning.
A few extra pauses to breathe, wander, notice, and simply be.
So for today,
I will not be writing here today a reflection .
Not because the words are gone—
but because sometimes they are off resting too,
gathering themselves quietly
like seashells along the shore.
I’m taking in the beauty of a change of pace,
the gift of lighter moments,
and the kind of rest that makes room
for new thoughts to return in their own time.
And while I’m away just for today.
I hope you are finding small pockets of peace too—
a deep breath,
a kind moment,
a little sunshine,
and something lovely to carry with you.

A Little Vacation Poem
Suitcases stuffed and barely closed,
Snacks tucked in where no one knows,
Windows down and laughter loud,
A little too full… but very proud.
Elbows leaning, faces near,
“Are we there yet?” every year.
Maps half-folded, plans askew,
And somehow… that’s the magic too.
Hair all windswept, days unplanned,
Time slips softly through our hands.
Nothing perfect, nothing grand—
Just joy we didn’t have to plan.
A road that bends, a sky so wide,
A thousand moments packed inside.
Not every mile goes as we say…
But oh, the stories on the way.
And somewhere between the rush and roam,
We find a feeling close to home—
Not in a place we meant to stay…
But in the hearts along the way.
⸻
Until then,
I’m here just not today.
resting a little more,
and trusting the words will meet me again

In My Anywhere But Here, even rest has a place—
and peace is welcome before the words return.
